How essential is humour for a better user experience

"There is an app for that". This one line has potentially defined a bulk of the innovation that has happened in the past few years. Apps have become the centre of our lives, homes, work places, and even vehicles now. We interact with them at almost every stage of our daily lives, but yet, these apps remain direct and to the point interfaces which do not gain a personality for themselves.

The most important Android O features you should know about

Google has just launched the latest version of Android. It’s called Android O. We don’t know what the official name is, or even what the OS version number will be (previous version number was Android 7.0 Nougat). Integrating Apps to enhance learning

As an educator with a passionate interest in the potential of new technologies, it strikes me how learning opportunities have widened significantly in the last decade. A day in the life of a hedgehog lab designer

My job is incredibly varied - so it's hard to describe a 'typical' work day. Here, however, I've tried my best to break one down into chunks, giving an idea of the sort of tasks that crop up time and again - and my approach to getting them done.

Earlier this week Apple introduced a series of betas for their main platforms. iOS 10.3, macOS Sierra 10.12.4 and tvOS 10.2. For the past few years these mid cycle releases of a major OS revision have often had new features, last year with 9.3 bringing multi user accounts for education and NightShift to iOS. This year is no different.

The Surging appconomy

We live in a growing appconomy - a term I’ve admittedly coined myself, but one I hope gives a sense of how huge the app market is set to become. And, with over a decade’s experience of building quality apps behind us, we’re well placed to comment when we predict positive trends for the future.
